INTRODUCTION

SyrCOM is an independent non-profit making research institute. It carries out projects in the rather small field of Syriac Computing which in turn contributes to the field of Syriac studies in general and to related fields of biblical research, theology, classics, history, philosophy and linguistics. All work is done by volunteers.

AIMS AND GOALS

SyrCOM aims at promoting Syriac culture by contributing to the academic field of Syriac studies using computer technology.

Some of the activities of SyrCOM are:

  • Holding a bi-annual forum on Syriac computing in conjunction with other conferences on Syriac Studies.
  • Providing consultations to academics on Syriac computing projects.
  • Taking up projects to promote the knowledge of Syriac culture.
