The system includes three reporting programs to be used for interrogating the database. Two of these, the Hyper-Text Writer (HTW) and the Hyper-Text Printer (HTP) are very similar, although their outputs are of different formats. The Hyper-Text Bibliographer (HTB) is a larger piece of software which is being developed as a separate project .
The HTP and HTW read selected articles from the database. They both use the same system, by which articles are selected according to the subject and type fields. The HTP produces a file that is ready to be printed by a commercial package but the HTW further formats the output, to produce a Hyper-text source file. This file can then be compiled to generate a Hyper-text system that can be used with WINDOWS.
